The 2004 Golf TDI-PD has an updated 1.9 litre four cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that offers up to 6.2 l/100 km (46 mpg) in city driving, and 4.6 l/100 km (61 mpg) on the highway. This new ‘pumpe duse’ turbocharged diesel engine with new high-pressure Bosch fuel injectors has an increase in horsepower from 90 to 100 over last year’s
Unfortunately, the new diesel proved to be more unreliable. So, if there is a choice between a 1.9 TDI and a 2.0 TDI engine, choose an older engine, although it provides slightly worse performance, and certainly a better choice of a 130-horsepower 1.9 TDI than a 150-horsepower 2.5 TDI diesel (creates high costs). 1.9 TDI - I generation
Nothing worse for the reliability of your TDI than a cracked oilpan!!! Cheapest mods I can think of: - Search for Evry mod (minimal cost for a resistor from your local Radio Shack) - Search for Snow Screen (cut the snow screen from your intake snorkel) - Search for mufflerectomy (cut the muffler off and replace with a piece of straight pipe
Feb 28, 2009. #1. Hi, im new to this forum, just after a bit of advice. Ive got a VW Golf Mk5 1.9 TDi, im looking at possibly doing the following: Exhaust (inc. decat) Induction. Remap. can you get a FMIC for the golf mk5 tdi? i havnt seen one, but i like the idea of one, i know the performance from one would be negligble but it would look
I bought a 55 Plate 2.0tdi 140 PD with 71000 on the clock and full service history ( although I have another thread on here regrding FSH) and a lot of recipts for work carried out after trawling through a lot of info on here and test driving both MK1 and MK2 Octavia TDI's, I managed to find one without DPF so thats one issue I wont have that
I have a 2010 TDI that has been pretty great. However, I am totally freaked out at some of the reliability problems these cars can have. (fuel pump, Turbo, DPF). I was actually planning to get rid of the car, but then the emission scandal hit and my cars worth plummeted. I owe 11,500 on a car that is worth maybe 8k.
